The nation is celebrating the136th birth anniversary of the founder of
Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah today (December 25) with great
enthusiasm and national spirit, Geo News reported.
On this
occasion, an impressive ceremony of the change of guards took place at
the Mazar-e-Quaid (Quiad’s Mausoleum) here in the city. An elegant and
smart contingent of the Pakistan Military Kakul Academy led by the PMA
Major General Mazhar Jamil assumed the responsibility of the guards.
A
number of activities being arranged to highlight the Quaid’s guiding
principles of peace and harmony in the country. The day reminds about
the Quaid’s historic struggle for a separate homeland for the Muslims of
the Sub-continent where every citizen could live according to his faith
and dignity.
The celebrations taking place both at public and
private levels by holding befitting functions to pay tribute to the
Father of the Nation for his heroic struggle for an independent
homeland. The main event took place at the Quaid’s Mausoleum in Karachi
with the change of guard.
The Ministry of National Heritage and
Integration has specially designed colourful float to pay homage to the
Father of the Nation on the day here.
The float, with the theme
Unity, Faith and Discipline, represents culture of all the provinces and
display photographic representation of Quaid-i-Azam and his unique
belongings.
A documentary film on Quaid-i-Azam will be shown on a
large screen which will be attended by a large number of diplomats,
high ranking government officials, cultural personalities as well as
general public.
Meanwhile, a special sitting in connection with
the Quaid-i-Azam day was held at Alhamra Hall, Lahore on Saturday, which
was presided by Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister, Zulfiqar Ali
Khosa.
Liaqat Baloch, Syed Fakhar Imam, Senator Muhammed Ali
Durrani, Khawaja Saad Rafiq MNA, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, MNA and Waleed
Iqbal Advocate were also present on the occasion.
A number of
social, cultural and educational programmes also being arranged in
Peshawar, Quetta and cities to pay tribute to the Quaid-i-Azam on
Sunday.
